Joshs Thumb!!!!

This is funny enough to be blogged separate from anything else. Tonight at dinner we were all talking when Josh said when he was a baby he was born with out something and we could not understand him so we all tried to guess what he said and he got more and more frustrated with us and finally shook his had and said " I SAID I WAS BORN WITH OUT A THUMB!!! as he is wiggling his left thumb in Austins face. I know you probably had to be there for this to be as funny as I think it is but it was DANG funny. He cracks us up.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

I cant believe Christmas has come and gone. It was a fun time for our family. I think the kids were all happy with Santas delivery and Josh LOVED his Jeep with a shovel!!! He would ride it a few inches and scream and then go another few inches and then would scream finally he said "This is Flippin Scarey!!!" He got better at driving but it needs to warm up so he can ride a little more, the garage just is not enough room for a 4 year old beginning driver.
Austin got golf clubs and is also ready for it to warm up so he can hit the course with his grandpa and cousins. Andrea got a TV so now we will never see her, no need to be upstairs with the family when you have it all in your room- well we still have dinner time. LOL!!! MaKena got a scooter and has voomed around Central with her friend Hailey who also got one. Theres no stoppin them now!!
Like I said we had a good Christmas and got more than we need and for this we are all greatful. I thank my Heavenly Father that we have been so blessed and at this time of year we are indeed lucky to have so much when there are so many going with out. I have a testimony of Jesus and know that he is our Savior and I love him and all that he has done for us. Also with it being Joseph Smiths Birthday this month, I also bear my testimony that he is a prophet and died restoring this wonderful gospel to this earth and without it I would be lost.
Well, with that said I am thankful to live close to our family, we get the opportunity to spend time with Kevins and my family and over the last couple days got to eat, play games, open presents, watch movies, go to the movie "Bedtime Stories- (which is a great show), go out to dinner, go sledding (they all loved it, including Josh who kept saying one more time) and just the pleasure of being together. I love my family with all my heart and there is nothing more that I need that just to be with them and to "huggle".

Joshua's 4th Birthday!!

WoW! It is Joshua's 4th birthday today. I can hardly believe it has been 4 years since this little miracle entered our lives. Joshua was born at the University of Utah and immediately was transfered to Primary Children's hospital. When I was 19 weeks pregnant with this little sweetheart I was told that he had multiple birth defects and that he was not compatible with life. Well miracles happen and even though they were right about the birth defects he was more than compatible with life, he is full of life!!! He has had 3o surgeries and still is the happiest person you could ever meet. He was born with a trachea-esphogeal fistula, esphogeal atrisa- meaning his trachea and esphogus were attached and his esphogus was not attached to his stomache. He has a cleft lip and palette, 13 sets of ribs, hydrocephalus (water on the brain) which has a shunt and has had shunt revisions. He is missing the radius in his right arm as well as only having 3 and 1/2 fingers and had a nasal dermoid cyst. There is a lot more but that is the major stuff and other than all of this he is absolutely PERFECT!!! I am so blessed to have this little boy in my life as well as the 3 other perfect kids we have. THis has been probably the hardest but most rewarding 4 years of my life. I am thankful for all that Josh has taught me and how much joy he brings to our family. When Josh was at Primary childrens we were told he might not walk, talk, eat, etc. and he does it all and does it well. He has showed me never to give up, he constantly shows us that our heavenly father blesses us in so many ways and to never to take the little things for granted because the little things are so important!!! Happy Birthday Josh and thanks for 4 great years and hopefully many more to follow you are the best!! All my love, Mom
